Dear Colleague,<\/p>\n
The Common Fund\u2019s Gabriella Miller Kids First Pediatric Research<\/a> (https:\/\/commonfund.nih.gov\/KidsFirst<\/a>) program (Kids First) is developing a data resource for the pediatric research community of well-curated clinical and genetic sequence data that will allow scientists to identify genetic pathways that underlie childhood cancer and structural birth defects and to explore whether shared genetic pathways exist between childhood cancer and structural birth defects.<\/p>\n
Kids First is <\/strong>soliciting applications<\/strong><\/a> (http:\/\/grants.nih.gov\/grants\/guide\/pa-files\/PAR-16-150.html<\/a>) to provide samples for whole genome sequencing that will help to elucidate the genetic contribution to childhood cancers and the genetic etiology of structural birth defects. <\/strong>The clinical and genetic sequence data will become part of the forthcoming Kids First data resource.
