Pallone & Eshoo Applaud House Passage of Bill to Authorize President Biden\u2019s Groundbreaking ARPA-H Initiative<\/b><\/p>\n

Washington, D.C.<\/b> \u2013 Energy and Commerce Committee Chairman Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ) and Health Subcommittee Chairwoman Anna G. Eshoo (D-CA) released the following joint statement today after the House of Representatives passed the H.R. 5585, the Advanced Research Projects Agency-Health Act to establish ARPA-H, an independent agency to accelerate biomedical innovation. The legislation, which was introduced by Eshoo, passed the House by a vote of 336-85.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cToday the House passed legislation to turn President Biden\u2019s bold proposal to create an agency tasked exclusively with driving biomedical breakthroughs into a reality. ARPA-H has incredible potential to revolutionize medicine by transforming how we detect, treat, and cure the deadliest diseases affecting Americans.\u00a0\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

\u201cThe pivotal investments we\u2019re making today will become the biomedical breakthroughs of tomorrow. The establishment of ARPA-H signals a promising future with new cures and treatments as well as cutting-edge tests to detect illnesses sooner.<\/b><\/p>\n
