Carolyn Breinich was diagnosed with Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia in 1994, five\u00a0days before her 14th birthday. Her treatment consisted of two and a half years of chemo\u00a0and ten days of cranial radiation. \u00a0Now an author and childhood cancer survivor, Carolyn joins us to raise awareness for childhood cancer and share her memoir, Faith, Hope and Cancer: The Journey of a Childhood Cancer Survivor. \u00a0Carolyn has always had a strong faith and\u00a0the\u00a0belief that her life has a purpose, and being a voice for childhood cancer\u00a0patients\/survivors is an important part of this. \u00a0She continues to be a strong advocate for childhood cancer survivors, and has volunteered with various cancer organizations over the years. Raising money and awareness about the needs of childhood cancer\u00a0survivors is important to Carolyn, as she has dealt with psychosocial issues, secondary\u00a0cancer and depression.<\/p>\n

Carolyn shares from first-hand experience the many untold realities of surviving childhood cancer, and the importance of faith and hope in this success. \u00a0Armed with faith, hope and advocacy, Carolyn now lives a charmed life on the road, \u00a0traveling the United States and enjoying its many wonders with her husband Lee and their two dogs.<\/p>\n
