Through March 24, the event hosted by Jack’s Angels and Charity Footprints brings attention to, and supports financially with event proceeds, the critical work of “Kids-of-Ukraine” and their work in rescuing children with cancer and their families in the war-torn country of Ukraine.\u00a0 We bring you once more this interview with Devan Tatlow, two-time childhood cancer survivor and US Outreach coordinator for Kids-of-Ukraine, once more just after the year anniversary of the war to bring more attention to the work of Kids-of-Ukraine and the fundraising efforts to support them at this powerful moment.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Devan Tatlow gives us a precious window into the realities faced by children with cancer and their families, caregivers, and the challenges faced in the collaborative international effort to help the people of Ukraine.\u00a0 A survivor of childhood cancer himself, Devan understands all-too-well the difficulties of seeking treatment, care, and continuing care after a devastating diagnosis. He brings to us a needed window into the experiences that children with cancer face in Ukraine, and important history of Tabletochki, the Ukrainian Charity of which Kids-ofUkraine is the US Chapter directly serving children with cancer in Ukraine.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Tabletochki has been serving children with life-threatening diseases and their families in Ukraine and surrounding countries since 2011, helping over 60,000 families.\u00a0 They were making important progress on establishing a world-class children\u2019s oncology hospital in Kyiv before the start of the war.\u00a0 The uncertainty of the war\u2019s end as well as the increasing reconstruction needs make the operation status and timing for that project equally uncertain.<\/span><\/p>\n
